Scope and Contents
He writes a second time to give some details about France. Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, president of the republic, was received in Notre Dame Church by the clergy who prepared a fine reception for him. In the evening he attended a ball given by the National Guard. There have been many victims of the cholera. Some? Sisters of Havre left for the colonies. There is to be a departure of missionaries for China at the end of September or first of October. Nicolas cannot thank Rousselon enough for his kindnesses when he was with him.
