Scope and Contents

Mégret thought he had an understanding with Mr. Dumartrait that he did not have to pay him for three months yet. Today he received notive of a judgment and attachment within a week. Because of bad times Mégret has not pressed his debtors and so he cannot meet this sudden demand. He asks Blanc to permit him to draw on his secretary for the amount of his debt. He will do his best to pay it back this month or next month. Mégret's assistant has been very ill. :: V-5-h A.L.S. French 4pp. 8vo.
