Scope and Contents
The box has arrived. Father Michael Clarke has returned to his post, decided to remains there. He has taken up the building of the church again. He realizes that he was wrong in leaving his parish as he did. Blanc is to be congratulated on getting rid of Father J. Mullen . Hailandière has written several times to Father Charles Oppermann whom he is permitting to return. Hailandière deplores the death of one of his best priests, Father Vinceent Baquelin . He has withdrawn all powers he had given to Father John Vabret who may come to see Blanc. He has done the same to Father John Peter Bellier, who having left the diocese of his own accord, again wishes to place himself here in spite of Hailandière. Hailandière has heard that Father? M. is soon to leave France to return to Blanc; will Blanc regret the advances he has made to him. P.S. Hailandière's health is poor.
