Lucas, Father Peter, New Iberia, Louisiana, to Bishop Anthony Blanc, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1845 September 20

Last night Lucas received Blanc's letter asking if Lucas still had the first will of Father Giles F. Martin . Father Louis Dufour, when he arrived at St. Martin, told Lucas that he had another will made before a notary public and so the one Lucas had was completely useless. Thereupon Lucas opened and read it; he saw that Blanc was Martin's universal heir to all he possessed in America. From what Blanc said the last will is similar to the first. :: V-5-d A.L.S.
