Boullier, C.M., Father John, Paris, France, to Bishop Anthony Blanc, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1841 July 27

Yesterday Boullier received Blanc's letter of June 4. They have been at Paris for about a month and leave next Thursday for Lyons. When he returns to Paris he will carry out Blanc's commissions. Choiselat Gallien let them know that Blanc was allotted $3000 this year. They learned from a letter from Bishop Joseph Rosati from Rome that the refusal of Detroit by Father John Mary Odin, C.M. was accepted by Propaganda who appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Texas with episcopal power. Father Peter Paul Lefevere Lefebvre of he Diocese of St. Louis, who was theologian to Bishop Charles Forbin Janson at the last Baltimore Council, was named to Odin's place as Administrator of Detroit. Boullier is grateful to learn of the zeal of his parishioners in finishing their church. The superior General Vincentians has given them hope to bring several with them. Today Boullier saw Father Boguio; he is bored in Paris and would like to return to Blanc's diocese. If he could have a place other than assistant at the Cathedral he would leave quickly., P.S.
