Lefranc, Father John, Barrens, Missouri, to Bishop Anthony Blanc, New Orleans, Louisiana, 1841 February 18
Item
Identifier: CANO V-4-l
Scope and Contents
Lefranc has many things to say to Blanc but he has just been informed of the sudden departure of Father James Burlando, C.M.. Lefranc despairs of learning English here; he has only 4 lessons of reading a week. These gentlemen are very busy. He would teach French to the seminarians; they are Irish and too negligent. A little difficulty frightens them and he sees them no more. If he had known any means of making himself worthy of Blanc's goodness he would employ it. :: V-4-l A.L.S. 3pp. 8vo.
