Fitte, C.S.C., Father Stanislaus F., Notre Dame, Indiana to James F. Edwards, 1901 August 30
Scope and Contents
He had three pleasant weeks among his friends, and spent them partly in the mountains thinking it would be the best means to get rid of malaria. He lost eight pounds of flesh but he still has too much of it. Next Monday the Bishop of Detroit dedicates the church in Lapeer, Michigan and Father Andrew Morrissey, C.S.C. is to preach. There is a scandal brewing in the shape of a book. Edwards will know it soon enough. P.S. Father Louis Letourneau C.S.C. has been appointed Assistant General a sinecure, but anyhow it is a kind of reparation for the past. :: XI-2-d A.L.S. 3pp.
