Scope and Contents
His son Francis X. McCollum has been a student at Notre Dame for the past two years and expected to graduate next year, but he informs him that it depends upon what Edwards says in that respect. He has a large family to educate and cannot afford to pay for another year. He has wealthy Protestant relatives who would educate his boys if he would allow them to select the institution but his conscience forbids him to do this.
