Corby, C.S.C., Father William, Notre Dame, Indiana to James F. Edwards, 1896 August 18

 Item — Box: CEDW 7, Folder: 21
Identifier: CEDW XI-1-n

Scope and Contents

All the while he has been under the impression that Edwards was off somewhere in Europe. There will be an account of the Grotto in the Annals for August. The priests of the diocese are here on retreat. Father Girardi, C.SS.R. Provincial of the Redemptorists, is preaching it. They had a pilgrimage from St. Mary's to the Grotto, one from Kalamazoo, and one from Benton Harbor. The Grotto and grounds will in a year or two be the most beautiful feature at Notre Dame. P.S. Father Thomas Carroll paid the $2000 and many others have sent in small sums. :: XI-1-n A.L.S. 2pp.
