Scope and Contents
When he arrives in Chicago he will give attention to the Library. His report to Bishop John L. Spalding is nearly ready for the printer. Note on reverse side in Edwards' hand: Miss Starr introduced Edwards to Louis Hosmer, sculptor. Mgr. August Bessonies gave him an old chasuble used by his uncle during the French Revolution. Father Ernest Audran told him much of the private history of Vincennes Diocese and gave him a valise full of old letters written by Bishop Celestine De la Hailandiere. Abbot Edward of Gethsemani gave him some old chasuables. Edwards makes notes on his trip. :: XI-1-l A.L.S. 1p.
