Scope and Contents

The first Catholic paper in Boston was published by Bishop Benedict J. Fenwick and called the Jesuit or Catholic Sentinel, Sep. 1829 to Jan. 1835. Then the name was changed to the Boston Pilot and was published for one year. In Jan. 1838 publication was resumed. In 1858 the name was changed to The Pilot owing to the national character of the paper. :: XI-1-k No signature 1p.
