Scope and Contents

The missionary vestment which Borgess presented to Notre Dame was given to him by John J. Beck of Sturgis, Michigan who assures them that it had been used by Bishop George Hay who was consecrated in 1769. The missionary chalice made in 1524, and given to Edwards for the University was presented to Borgess by Father Edward T. Collins, vicar general of Cincinnate, who assured them that it has been used by Archbishop John Carroll. :: XI-1-d A.L.S. 1p. 8vo.
