Brent, Emily C., Washington, D. C., to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1885 December 5
Scope and Contents
She thanks Edwards for the Mass for Julia, and for the Lourdes Water. She sends a letter of Archbishop John Carroll and one of Bishop John Lefevere de Cheverus Chevereaux. She will send more if they can be spared. Her late brother John Carroll Brent had a great many relics, but they are now scattered. He had a letter written by Lord Baltimore to Captain George Brent who married Lord Baltimore's step-daughter. Miss Brent gave this to her nephew in Pensacola, Florida. He also had a lock of hair of Mary Queen of Scots; this now belongs to his only daughter. Her brother was a lawyer by profession and lived in Paris seven years. :: XI-1-c A.L.S. 11pp. 12mo.
