Fenwick, Father Edward Dominic, Georgetown, Kentucky, to Jacob Dittoe, Somerset, Ohio, 1815 August 6

 Item — Box: CEDW 2, Folder: 07
Identifier: CEDW XI-1-c

Scope and Contents

Fenwick received Peter Dittoe ?'s letter; he is sorry to hear of Jacob's low situation and hopes he will obtain mercy and life everlasting. Fenwick would have been glad to know the quantity and quality of Congress land for sale near the Salt Springs. He means to set out about September 10, going by way of Cincinnati, and they may expect him between the 20th and 30th. They are to inquire after the Catholics at Newark, Ohio and on Owl Creek, Ohio . He has heard the names of Majors, Logue, Arnold, Backers, and McKinsy. The Dittoes are to contrive to let them know that Fenwick is to be in the neighborhood for a week or so; also those on Walnut Creek, Ohio . The priest who tended the upper counties has become sick so all his charge falls on Fenwick. He sends best wishes to the old lady, to all, old and young, but especially to Joseph Dittoe and family.
