He received the package of 15 "Scholastics" and thanks Edwards for them. He could have wished for no better Christmas gift. He is not studying law in his father's office; he does not have the brains. He hopes to obtain a clerkship in the State Senate. He then will be able to return to Notre Dame. He would give anything he possesses to return.
