Father Peter Cooney C.S.C. is preaching the students' retreat. They expect the Archbishop of Cincinnati John Baptist Purcell and Bishops Caspar H. Borgess of Detroit and John H. Luers of Fort Wayne. Schuyler Colfax addressed the students. Father Alexis Granger C.S.C. inquires often about Edwards. Lemonnier's brother writes that no one in France thinks of peace.
