He had expected to be able to tell how the new bell sounds, but it will not be ready until noon. He thanks Edwards and his parents for their kindness while he was in Toledo. Mrs. William Sherman and family, with Gen. Charles Ewing have been at Notre Dame for a few days. They have to build several new buildings at Notre Dame, but don't know where or how to begin.
