E(lder), M(ary) T(heresa): New Orleans, (Louisiana) to W(illia)m J. Onahan: (Chicago, Illinois), 1893 August 21
Item
Identifier: CONA IX-1-f
Scope and Contents
If Mrs. Elder's second paper, on Pauperism, is acceptable but cannot be billed over her signature, the name of a promising young lawyer, John B. Fischer, may be substituted. However Mrs. Elder has scruples about this "adoption" as well as a feeling of jealousy in having some one else assume credit for her work, so she shall leave the decision to Onahan. She thanks him for the colonization papers, and mentions the name of Judge Lawrence O'Donnell as one willing to read her first paper.
