Lathrop, G(eorge) P(arsons): New London, Conn(ecticut) to William J. Onahan: (Chicago, Illinois), 1893 July 14
Scope and Contents
Since Onahan's suggestion, in December, 1892, that Lathrop prepare a paper for the (Columbian) Catholic Congress on "The Results and Consequences to Religion of the Discovery of America", Lathrop has not heard from Onahan, and presumes that he is not now expected to do the paper. His wife has suffered the same experience, and it is now too late for her to prepare anything. Bishop (McMahon) asked Lathrop to attend the Congress as a delegate from the diocese of Hartford. He shall try to go, though his wife will not. He would like to know exactly how matters stand.
