Includes transcripts of President Jenkins' first faculty address in October 2005 and his address to faculty and students in January 2006 in which President Jenkins discussed academic freedom and Catholic character in the context of issues arising from the Queer Film Festival and The Vagina Monologues. This address resulted in much controversy and debate. This also includes the Notre Dame Faculty Senate Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom, approved in March 2006 and Jenkins' closing statement on Notre Dame's academic freedom and Catholic character in April 2006. Also includes the "Common Proposal of Chairs of the College of Arts and Letters and Fr. Jenkins."
