Abstract
Most of this correspondence is from Mr. Fallon, Mr. Brennan, Mr. Greene, Mr. Thorman, and Mr. Hoyt. The material before October, 1964, discusses the establishing of the National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company, the goals of the paper, and its financial viability. Other files include letters from Bishop Helmsing, correspondence with company counsel over tax-exempt status, correspondence concerning various controversies surrounding the paper, fund-raising reports and outlines, and letters to Fallon from individual readers of the National Catholic Reporter. The material is arranged in chronological order within each year.
