Murray, Thomas Hamilton, Boston, Massachusetts, to Richard Henry Clarke, New York, New York, 1885 October 5
Scope and Contents
About a year ago several gentlemen discussed the large number of Americans who have "gone over to Rome". The subject proved so interesting that Murray decided to bring out a small volume on the subject and to include a list of the prominent converts with two or three lines of biography concerning each. Murray hopes to finish the work soon. Many of the clergy and laity to whom he mentioned the project sent him lists of converts. Among these were Henry F. Brownson of Detroit, Father James H. Corrigan of Seton Hall, Mrs. Helen L. Bradford of Baltimore, and Father Joseph Keller, S.J., late President of St. Louis University. Murray has the names of a few New York converts and he asks for a list from Clarke. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 2pp. 4to.
