Sestini, S.J., Father Benedict, Woodstock, Maryland, to Richard H. Clarke, New York, New York, 1884 November 14

 Item
Identifier: CRCL I-2-n

Scope and Contents

Sestini promised an article about Bishop Miege but could not find suitable information. He was looking for an article on Father John Baptist Miege, S.J., by a young student at Woodstock, published in the Watchman of St. Louis in July 1883. He hopes to find the article but Clarke might find it in New York. Sestini wants Clarke to know the article was incorrect in stating Miege was proposed for Professor of theology in Rome. He was with Miege the whole four years he was in Rome. They left Rome when the 1848 revolution broke out. They met in France and at Georgetown before Miege went to the Rocky Mountain Missions. He recounts other times they were together. He hopes to soon have more information for Clarke than was in this letter. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 3pp. 32mo.
