He will send Clarke's letter to Jerome McFarland and ask information on the Bishop's early life. Jerome McFarland would know if his brother, the late Dr. John McFarland of Tiffin, Ohio, had any memoranda concerning the Bishop. Tierney gave a large collection of the Bishop's letters to the Sisters of Mercy, eight years before, who pretended to be engaged in a sketch of the Bishop's life. Nothing was ever done in that direction. These letters have never been returned and they would be of benefit, if on hand. A niece is Mrs. Dr. M.
