Scope and Contents
Pax encloses a copy of an interesting article. If he can find a priest to take his place for 8 months, he will be in New York March 16 to get his passport at the French Consul's. He would leave on May 17 by French steamer for Brest, France. Pax gives an itinerary of his trip in Europe. If he can help Clarke by making inquiries in Europe for material, he will gladly do so. The enclosed article is an Extract on the History of West Greenland from the American Universal Geography by Jedediah Morse, D.D., minister of Charlestown, printed at Boston, Massachusetts, June 1796. :: I-2-n A.L.S. 5pp. 4to.
