McQuaid is to preach for Msgr. George H. Doane at the cornerstone laying of his new school house. McQuaid will be down a day or two in advance and will expect to see Corrigan in the evening. McQuaid has declined to be present for the laying of the cornerstone of the Catholic University on May 24 because he is more strongly convinced than ever of its inevitable failure.
