He thanks the Bishop for a copy of the History of the bishop's diocese. He wishes to congratulate the Bishop on getting Father John Talbot Smith to write the history. He has succeeded in having work done that will be imitated by many others. This is the time to note any mistakes so that they can be corrected in a new edition of the history.
