Anti-Catholic publication. A letter from Father James A. O'Connor pastor of the Independent Catholic Church to Cardinal John McCloskey on the celibacy of the clergy. He refers to a case in which a Father Michael Goodwin married the superioress of the convent in Brooklyn. He asserts that the celibacy rule is the cause of all the corruption in the Church and necessitated the Protestant Reformation.
