Scope and Contents
Hamilton expresses his regret upon the suppression of the "Freeman's Journal" and wonders at the cause of this action. He found that the Journal defended the Union and the Constitution instead of having a tendency to treason. He encloses five dollars to renew his subscription, and offers as much as fifty dollars to McMaster, which can be received upon request.
