Item
Identifier: CDET III-2-k
Scope and Contents
Yesterday James Phelan visited Ehrenstrasser who was greatly humiliated by this leader. By patience, he got Phelan to promise to send his children to the Catholic school. After that Phelan spoke about Mr. Brady in such a way that Ehrenstrasser was afraid. If Ehrenstrasser dismisses Brady, he will lose all authority and a great many good people, but in doing so, he could gain those leaders and their party and get more money to pay debts. He asks Lefevere for some instructions, as he is so green for America. Enclosure:
