Whipple, I.H.M., Sister Mary, Monroe, Michigan, to Bishop Peter Paul Lefevere, Detroit, Michigan, 1857 May 25

 Item
Identifier: CDET III-2-i

Scope and Contents

Sister Mary writes Lefevere of her anxieties about her community, which is not progressing and which lacks proper spiritual direction. They need to expand beyond Monroe to survive. If she were well she would not care to join another community and she has a horror of returning to the world. They have expected Lefevere since Easter. She was advised to write to him by their Mother Theresa Maxis, C.I.M. . A visit from Father Peter Hennaert is much wished by some of the members. Marked confidential. :: III-2-i A.L.S.
