Spalding has been unwell for more than two weeks but as he is now nearly recovered he will be able to commence the retreat at Detroit on September 6 and end it on the eleventh or twelfth. P.S. Know Nothings beaten in Tennessee and North Carolina. Kentucky election on the 6th, result doubtful. P.S. Because of appointments before and after the retreat he cannot change the time. :: III-2-i A.L.S. 1p. 8vo.
