Scope and Contents

Bord has listened attentively to their appeal and has written it down. The Governor of the Territory has directed him to permit Father Dejean with his female assistants to settle among them with the consent of their chiefs to teach them to read and write to serve God. He gives Dejean his best wishes for success. Their wishes will be made known to the governor and by him to the President of the United States. The answer of the President will be faithfully communicated to the Indians. :: III-2-g D.S. 3pp. 8vo.
