Orestes congratulates Henry on his LL. D. from Notre Dame and Philip Brownson for his record in studies, as seen in the Notre Dame Catalogue. His own son John Brownson is doing very well as a doctor; his farm is not doing well because of drought and he will have to teach school another year, for times are very hard. His son Charley goes to school with him and is very good in mathematics, his daughters Sarah and Annie teaching, Lon and Rosa at home. Charley is as fiery as his grandfather Orestes A. Brownson .
