Maes, Father Camillus P., Detroit, Michigan, to Henry F. Brownson, Detroit, Michigan, 1882 November 14
Scope and Contents
Father Maes congratulates Brownson on the beginning of his publication of his father's works and calls the project particularly welcome in these days of materialism to further the cause of religion. He will read the volumes with great interest. He likes Henry's introductory remarks, and the plan laid down for the book shows Maes that his former impression that Orestes A Brownson did not fully elucidate his views on important questions is incorrect.. He wishes Henry God speed in an undertaking which he hopes the learned public of America will appreciate in a substantial manner. :: III-3-b A.L.S. 2pp. 8vo.
