Williams, Mrs. V L., Yonkers, New York, to James Alphonsus McMaster, New York, New York, 1871 September 15
Scope and Contents
She asks the address of the Little Sisters of the Poor, for she has a large amount of cast-off clothing they could use and which he would send by express if she knew where their home was situated. There should be a central bureau of a Society for the Promotion of Catholic Interests that could receive such donations and give information. McMaster suggested something of the sort in one or two issues of the Journal and should recur to it frequently, for people are impressed only by repitition. P.S. The Freeman should give a permanent list of Catholic benevolent societies with street and number. :: I-1-c A.L.S. 3pp. 12mo.
