Scope and Contents
Printed circular. He encloses a letter of Cardinal Alexandre Barnabo on the wine of the Mass. He suggests that special precautions be taken in preparing the wine for the Mass, mentioning the approved merchants. Also the hosts should be carefully made. He warns them against using music from operas or profane songs in the church. He tells them to do their duty in the elections. He recommends a new book "Conseiller de Peuple." He speaks of the new persecutions of the Church in Europe and outlines the pastoral visit. These opportunities for visits are listed on the next page.
