Chronicles
Scope and Contents
Convent Chronicles are a day-by-day journal of the significant events in the convent. These events include the arrival, departure, illness or death of sisters, the celebration of anniversaries and jubilees; and any unusual happenings at the convent. The Chronicles often contain yearly lists of the sisters stationed at the convent along with their assignments, and statistics related to the activity of the convent, i.e., number of pupils taught or patients cared for. Originally the Chronicles were kept in journals kept at the convent. Later it was required that every year's Chronicles be sent to the Motherhouse. The pagination for each convent's Chronicles continues in sequence from year to year.
