General
Ottó owes his brother an explanation as to why he has taken some of his left-over personal items from Norbertinum. It's not that he likes using other people's belongings. It was the harsh circumstances made him accept the coat, the grey suit, etc. Still he regrets it. In the future he would like to earn a living so he can provide for himself. Ottó asks ALG to send Norbertinum a letter explaining the situation. He just got back from, Pécs, the town where they had grown up. Flying back, the plane almost crashed in a storm, so now he is happy to be alive. He left their family house, in which their mother died recently, untouched. He also visited their parents' graves and placed two wreaths on them, one in the name of ALG. Standing there, he felt lonely and sad. Meanwhile Christams is coming up, which would only bring him more pain. ALG is the only person in the world Ottó could rely on. He explains that the political situation in Hungary is becoming unstable and he wants to emigrate. Ottó is concerned that waiting for a passport to emigrate would take a long time. Thus he would like to escape through the border. He visited ALG's friend, Mr. Ader, to ask for some advice in this regard. Mr. Ader said the situation in Chehszlovakia was even worse. Now Ottó is waiting until December 15th to make a decision as to escape or wait patiently for his passport. He hopes that ALG's letter will arrive by then. He heard that ALG would pay a visit to Mary in Toronto and kindly asked him to send a picture of her to him. Ottó is planning to send a Christmas card to her for Budapest. Hungarian
