Dr. Réthly to ALG, 1949 January 11
Dates
- Creation: 1949 January 11
Language of Materials
In English, Hungarian, French, German, Italian, and Latin.
General
Letter. Ranschburg bookseller contacted him about the two manuscripts: the History of Saint Benedictine and the Gombos Albin Fontes. As ALG requested, he delivered the books to Mr. Ranschburg and now he is able to take out the custom permits and send them to the Notre Dame Library. If this transaction had been arranged through them, that is through the Academy, that would not have been a problem either since the materials were to be considered an exchange. In turn, ALG sends valuable books to the Hungarian Academy that they are in need of. Also he informs ALG that there is some sort of a new embargo on unsolicited gift parcels and that this decree was due to the fact that people started to abuse the packages. Hungarian
