This series consists of annual, quarterly and monthly financial reports of all U.S. Grail units, projects and programs, along with some international material. Also included are agendas and minutes from financial meetings, correspondence, ledgers, check registers and in the regional files, legal documents such as incorporation documents, rental agreements, etc. Of special interest are the regional files which give detailed information on the operations of individual centers and their programs in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

The General Financial Records are divided first into geographic units - International, National, Regional (and alphabetically within this unit by state and center), and Grailville. Within these geographic units the material is further alphabetically divided into individual programs, units, or projects; then by record type and finally, chronologically within each record type.
