Murphy thanks Hudson for copies of the Ave Maria. He plans to remain in Buffalo for about a week and then go to Toronto, Montreal and New York before giving two missions in Pittsburgh. Later he will stop at Chicago from whence he will visit Notre Dame. Murphy intends to send Hudson a copy of the Catholic Knight. Murphy will leave soon for Australia. The price of the binding at Noonan's will be $.10 per book. As soon as Murphy gets the time after arriving in Australia he will write the other story, "Eilie O'Connor." He can do it better now by bringing in both American and Australian scenery. Murphy has been occupied with giving missions and retreats. While he was at Knock, three pilgrims witnessed an apparition of the Blessed Virgin on the feast of Saint Aloysius, to whom the people and their pastor, Archdeacon B. A. Cavanagh have special devotion. Murphy considers this apparition at a time when Ireland is passing through a crisis, as having significance in the designs of God. He is giving a fortnight's mission here for the Parish and then goes to the Cathedral in Cleveland. There are still places in America that do not have the Ave Maria and in such places he recommends it. He will be in New York and Baltimore during Lent and after Easter he will go West and perhaps may see Hudson. He is acquainted with most works of the kind in Europe and America but he has met with nothing like it in the way of Catholic reading. It is interesting and instructive. He wishes to see the Ave in every Catholic home. Murphy is making a trip to America to give a series of lectures on Ireland. The purpose of the lecture tour is to collect funds to pay off a 2000 pound debt on the Jesuit House at Galway. He expects to be in the United States and Canada for about a year and plans to see Hudson. Murphy sends some poetry and plans to send Hudson articles while on his trip.
