She told Hudson her story because he would know her better for it. The Professor she mentioned seems to be afflicted with the notion like most Catholic men that a girl must want him very badly. What amazes Muir is why Eleanor Donnelly doesn't fall in love. Muir may never marry but she has never found any man less than a gentleman. Muir agrees with Hudson, Eleanor Donnelly is very feminine. Mrs. Burnett 's story has a good conclusion.
