A scrapbook of newspaper clippings about bicycling compiled by W. I. Doty of Denver, Colorado, a member of the Denver Wheel Club. Clippings range in date from November 1896 to August 1897. Most clippings appear to derive from local dailies and emphasize the Colorado cycling scene. Inside front cover includes handwritten note: "No. 3 W.I. Doty, Denver Colo. ... Denver Wheel Club."

The Denver Wheel Club, founded in the 1880s, was a prominent Denver, Colorado, cycling club during the cycling boom of the late nineteenth century. The Denver Wheel Club was one of the leading cycling organizations west of the Mississippi and an influential national cycling organization. The club ceased to exist in the first years of the twentieth century.

W. I. Doty was a prominent Denver cyclist, who was a member of the Denver Wheel Club. Doty was also involved with the League of American Wheelmen, the leading national cycling organization of the 1890s.
