The Spanish Civil War Women’s Ephemera Collection comprises 8 folders of flyers and pamphlets from Republican women’s political organizations surrounding the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). Materials encourage women to vote and get involved with political women’s groups, asking women to remember their roles as mothers, domestic laborers, and proletariat workers as reasons to be active. Topics mentioned are voluntary military service, political leaders and failures, voting rights, and song lyrics from the Mujeres Libres magazine.
