Scope and Contents
This collection consists of about 75 professional football playoff and championship game programs. Leagues represented include the National Football League (NFL, 1922-); the All-America Football Conference (AAFC, 1946-1949); and the American Football League (AFL, 1960-1969). The collection includes 41 Super Bowl programs. Inscribed signatures are present as noted. The programs typically contain pictures, articles, and statistics about the players on the teams playing in the game. Some programs also include pictures and information about team managers, team owners, and other team personnel, league officials, historical articles, information about the host city, and advertisements. The programs tend to become longer and more substantial through the years.
