Scope and Contents
This collection contains about 140 programs issued for professional boxing matches. The programs usually contain at a minimum biographical and statistical information about the boxers involved in the match. The programs tend to become larger and more substantial over the years. Some programs also contain information about trainers, managers, referees, the venue, and historical information. Most of these programs represent fights of some significance; and many are from title fights in various weight divisions. The majority of the programs are from the 1930s through the 1960s with a few examples from earlier or later years. The location of the fight is indicated in the Scope and Content note.
Formats include programs.
