Scope and Contents

This collection contains annual publications in magazine format devoted to baseball. The magazines mostly covered major league baseball in the United States. The magazines published prior to the season—or sometimes during the season—generally included reviews of the previous year’s season; team and players statistics; and previews of the upcoming—or in-progress—season, including information about leagues, teams, players managers, and other details. The magazines often include essays, analytical articles, photographs, and sometimes advertisements.

This collection does not includes Street and Smith's baseball magazines, which have been cataloged as a serial and are described in the Hesburgh Library catalog.
