Biographical / Historical
First played in 1902, the Rose Bowl has been played annually (usually) in the Pasadena, California, area on or near New Year’s Day and features two college football teams, often from different regions of the country. In 1942, due to World War Two travel restrictions, the Rose Bowl was played in Durham, North Carolina, and, in 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the Rose Bowl was played in Arlington, Texas.
