Scope and Contents
This collection consists of political ephemera produced by Solidarity (Solidarnosc), a Polish labor union founded in 1980 at the Lenin Shipyard. It was the first trade union in a Warsaw Pact country that was not controlled by a communist party. Materials include broadsides, pamphlets, handbills, realia, periodicals, photographs, and posters.

This collection is broken into three series based on when materials were accessioned. Series 1 contains individually acquired materials and it is arranged by acquisition date. Series 2 comprises a collection of 89 posters issued by Solidarity, acquired in 2024 and is arranged alphabetically by poster title. Series 3 contains handbills, photographs and other ephemera and is arranged chronologically.
